About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Padstow at 4 New St, St Petroc's Bistro offers an exceptional blend of culinary delight, comfortable accommodation, and inviting hospitality. This unique establishment masterfully combines the charm of a traditional bistro with the warm, personal touch of a boutique hotel and bed & breakfast, making it a standout choice for those seeking both exquisite food and a memorable stay in Cornwall.

At its core, St Petroc's Bistro is celebrated for its delightful restaurant and bar, where the cuisine is a vibrant homage to the freshest seafood and carefully curated local ingredients. Guests are treated to a menu bursting with coastal flavors, featuring masterfully prepared dishes such as tender Sea Bass, delicately seared Scallops with coriander and hazelnut butter, and the ever-popular Mouclade Moules Frites. The taste journey continues with sumptuous Lobster & Chips, beautifully presented Dover Sole, and the succulent Gremolata Prawns. For meat lovers, the 12oz Full Face Rump Steak and the expertly cooked Filet Mignon deliver rich, hearty satisfaction.

Dessert lovers will find themselves spoilt for choice, with decadent options like the velvety Chocolate Pavé, traditional Sticky Toffee Pudding, creamy Pistachio Panna Cotta, and elegant Affogato. The inclusion of a refined Selection of Cheeses alongside a carefully chosen range of dessert wines — from the sweet Moscato D’Asti to the luxurious Sauternes and the rich Pedro Ximenez sherry — rounds out the dining experience with an opulent touch.

Had a very lovely lunch during a trip to Padstow. The food was fresh and beautifully presented and the service was great. It's definitely a place I would go to again. Really great choice from a set lunch menu and lunch time specials and also a la carte selection. The lemon sole I had was lovely and the gorgonzola with honey and walnuts was creamy and tasty.

Absolutely great couple of nights. Booked a 2 night package that included room, breakfast, 3 course evening meal, meat board/bottle of wine, lunch, free parking and Rick Stein’s latest book. The room was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean. All the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. We really couldn’t have had a better break- wonderful value for money.

Stayed here last weekend with a large party. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Special mention to Lynn on breakfast service who took the time to chat but was efficient and professional at all times. Great team on site.

My wife and I enjoyed three wonderful nights at the St Petrocs Bistro. We swapped between two rooms, both beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard, with extremely comfortable beds providing a great night's sleep! Our first room was up on the top floor in the attic with views over the estuary. I believe this was one of the larger and more expensive rooms (wife booked) and it was extremely spacious and beautifully presented, but it was very warm on our arrival after a hot day. The team did provide a water cooling system, which did manage to cool the room down and they also offered to add ice to the machine in order to speed up the process. Otherwise, the room was fabulous and only warm for a couple of hours on one evening. Although sad to leave this room, we swapped to the Garden room on our last night which, whilst smaller, maintained the high standards of decoration, fixtures and fittings. We ate at the restaurant on two evenings and the food was excellent on both occasions. Some reviews comment on pricing but the restaurant uses quality ingredients and we really enjoyed our meals. I also attended one of the cookery classes where we actually cooked a few of the menu items from the Seafood restaurant. Here too, the emphasis was on quality ingredients, and the standards are high. But - our experience was made all the better due to the amazing team of great people working here! From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Lucy, we were made to feel so welcome. Nothing seemed too difficult for the team and they would often drop what they were doing to help or answer our questions. Deborah-Jane assisted us as we left, allowing us extra time to pack as we managed the demands of our three month old. I wish I had asked for all of their names as they all deserve a mention - they made our stay all the more enjoyable. Truly excellent service!! Thank you very much indeed.
